Root Nook tablet 16gb (stock software 1.4.3) to Jelly Bean 4.1.2

  1. use a new microsd card ( used a Sandisk class 10)
  2. format the sd card in Unbuntu and marked as BOOT and LBA
  3. download NT-CWD-SD, and extract into a directory
  4. copy these 4 files from extraction into the SD card
  5. power on the Nook by holding the N button and Power button till you see the BOX logo which means it had booted the CWM from the SD card
  6. go the menu to backup the Nook
  7. power off Nook and remove SD card
  8. copy cm-7-TEAM-B-BETA1-signed.zip (as is, no extraction) to the SD card
  9. power on Nook by holding N button and Power button till you see the BOX logo from CWM
  10. Clean up in preparation for the install
    1. wipe cache
    2. wipe user data
    3. advanced-> wipe devik cache
  11. install from SD card, select cm-7-TEAM-B-BETA1-signed
  12. after it is done, reboot the system normally
  13. If everything is going well. shutdown, remove the SD card from Nook
  14. copy gapp-jb-20120726-signed.zip and sgt7-10-20121125-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip (no extract) to SD card
  15. reinsert SD card and do the CWM boot
  16. Clean up in preparation for the install
    1. wipe cache
    2. wipe user data
    3. advanced-> wipe devik cache
  17. install from SD card, select sgt7-10-20121125-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip
  18. after Android is installed from previous step, install gapp gapp-jb-20120726-signed.zip
  19. after install, reboot
  20. remove the SD card and put your regular SD card back in.
  21. power on Nook
  22. setup Wifi and Google account
  23. done. Nook is running Jelly Bean 4.1.2
  24. customization
    1. change screen brightness to higher
    2. change the screen timeout value
    3. change the sleep setting
    4. check software version
  25. install app’s as needed
